Rebound Shooter

In most shooting games, you aim at your target and fire. Rebound Shooter asks a different question: what happens when the most efficient path to your target is not a straight line? When walls become allies, when corners turn into weapons, and when a single bullet can eliminate three targets through clever geometry? Play Rebound Shooter online and discover that the shortest distance between two points is sometimes a bounce.

The Physics of the Ricochet

Angle of Incidence, Angle of Reflection

The fundamental rule governing every rebound in this game is simple: a projectile bouncing off a flat surface will reflect at the same angle it arrived. Fire at a wall at 30 degrees, and the bullet leaves at 30 degrees in the opposite direction. This predictable behavior is the foundation of every trick shot you will ever make.

Curved Surfaces

Not all walls are flat. Curved surfaces scatter bullets in less predictable ways, though the physics remain consistent. Hitting the inside of a curve focuses the ricochet into a tighter angle, while hitting the outside of a curve spreads it wider. Use curved surfaces to fine-tune trajectories that flat walls cannot achieve.

Bullet Behavior After Bounce

Each bullet can ricochet a limited number of times before losing energy. The first bounce preserves full speed and damage. The second bounce reduces both slightly. After the third bounce, the bullet slows enough that it may not reach distant targets. Plan your shots to use as few bounces as possible while still reaching the target.

Aiming and Shooting Controls

Mouse Controls

  • Move mouse to aim. A trajectory line extends from your weapon showing the initial path and first bounce point.
  • Left-click to fire. The projectile launches along the trajectory line.
  • Right-click and hold to extend the trajectory preview further, showing second and third bounce points. Release to cancel the preview without firing.

Keyboard Controls

  • Arrow keys provide fine aim adjustment for precision shots.
  • Spacebar fires along the current aim direction.
  • Tab toggles between available ammunition types.

Trajectory Preview Limits

The trajectory line shows where your bullet will travel, but only for a limited distance. Beyond the preview, you must mentally calculate the remaining bounces. Developing this spatial intuition is what separates skilled players from beginners.

Level Design and Target Placement

Direct-Line Targets

The simplest levels present targets in direct line of sight. No bouncing required. These serve as tutorials, teaching you the basic controls and aiming sensitivity before introducing ricochet mechanics.

Single-Bounce Challenges

Targets hidden behind cover that can be reached with one wall bounce. These levels teach you to look for walls that create the right reflection angle. The key insight: position yourself so that the wall, the target, and your weapon form a triangle where the bounce point is the vertex.

The Wall-Mounted Target

Some targets are attached to walls and can only be hit from the side. A direct shot would hit the wall instead of the target. You must bounce the bullet off an opposite wall so it approaches the target from the side. This pattern appears repeatedly throughout the game.

Multi-Bounce Puzzles

Advanced levels require two, three, or even four bounces to reach the target. These puzzles often feature complex room layouts with multiple walls at different angles. Solving them requires working backward from the target: identify where the bullet needs to arrive from, then trace the bounces backward to your firing position.

Moving Targets

Predicting Motion Paths

Some targets move along fixed paths. You must time your shot so that the bullet and target converge at the same point after one or more bounces. Fire too early or too late and the bullet passes through empty space where the target used to be.

The Lead Calculation

For moving targets, aim not at where the target is but where it will be when the bullet arrives after its bounces. The more bounces involved, the further ahead you must lead. This requires understanding both the travel time of a bouncing bullet and the speed of the target.

Ammunition Types

Standard Rounds

Basic bullets that travel in straight lines and bounce predictably. These are your workhorse ammunition and are available in unlimited supply on most levels.

Heavy Rounds

Slower but more powerful. Heavy rounds can destroy certain obstacles that standard rounds cannot penetrate. They bounce fewer times — usually only once — before stopping. Use them to clear barriers that block the path to your target.

Split Rounds

Fired as a single bullet that splits into three after its first bounce. Each fragment follows a separate trajectory, covering a wider area. Ideal for levels with multiple clustered targets that a single trajectory cannot reach.

High Score Strategy

Ammunition Efficiency

Levels award bonus points for using fewer shots. A single bullet that eliminates multiple targets through clever bouncing scores far higher than three separate shots. Always look for the one-shot solution before firing multiple times.

Speed Bonuses

Completing a level quickly grants a time bonus. However, rushing leads to missed shots and wasted ammunition. Balance speed with accuracy — a fast completion with a clean one-shot solution is the optimal approach.

Hidden Targets

Some levels contain hidden targets that are not required for completion but grant significant bonus points if found and hit. These are usually tucked behind complex multi-bounce paths that require careful analysis to discover.

Important Notes

  • The trajectory preview is accurate for the first bounce but becomes less precise for subsequent bounces.
  • Some walls have a subtle texture difference indicating they are destructible with heavy rounds.
  • Ammunition is limited on most levels. Count your shots and plan accordingly.
  • The reset button instantly restarts the level with no penalty — use it freely to experiment with different angles.
