Police Drive

The radio crackles to life. A suspect vehicle has been spotted heading east on the main boulevard. You hit the lights, slam the gas, and the city blurs past your windshield. Police Drive puts you in the middle of high-stakes law enforcement chases where every intersection is a decision, every lane change is a risk, and catching the suspect is all that matters. Play Police Drive online and experience what it takes to run a suspect to ground.

Pursuit Classification: Know Your Chase

Routine Traffic Stop

The simplest engagement. A single suspect vehicle traveling at moderate speed through predictable traffic. These scenarios teach the basics of maintaining visual contact, positioning your cruiser, and executing a clean PIT maneuver to end the chase safely.

High-Speed Pursuit

Suspect vehicles that refuse to stop and accelerate to dangerous speeds. These pursuits weave through heavy traffic, blind intersections, and tight alleyways. The key is not to match their speed blindly but to anticipate turns and cut them off.

The Multi-Suspect Chase

The most chaotic scenario. Two or more suspect vehicles split off in different directions. You must choose one to pursue while dispatching is implied for the others. Choosing the right target — usually the most dangerous vehicle — is a split-second tactical decision.

Driving Controls and Maneuvers

Standard Controls

  • W or Up Arrow — accelerate
  • S or Down Arrow — brake and reverse
  • A or Left Arrow — steer left
  • D or Right Arrow — steer right
  • Spacebar — activate siren and lights

Advanced Maneuvers

The PIT Maneuver

The Precision Immobilization Technique is your primary tool for ending pursuits. Pull alongside the suspect vehicle, match their speed, then steer into their rear quarter panel. A well-executed PIT sends the suspect into a spin, stopping them instantly. Practice the timing — too early and you miss, too late and the suspect escapes.

The Rolling Roadblock

Position your cruiser in front of the suspect vehicle and gradually reduce speed. The suspect is forced to slow down or attempt a dangerous pass. This works best on narrow roads where passing is impossible.

The Box-In

When multiple police units are available, coordinate to surround the suspect vehicle on all four sides and gradually bring all vehicles to a stop. This requires precise spatial awareness and smooth braking.

City Map and Navigation

District Layout

The city is divided into districts, each with distinct road characteristics.

  • Downtown — tight grid streets with frequent intersections and heavy traffic. Pursuits here are slow but technically demanding.
  • Highway — long straightaways with high speed limits. Suspects can reach top speed here, making it dangerous but also predictable.
  • Industrial Zone — wide roads with warehouses and containers. Plenty of room for maneuvers but watch for dead ends.
  • Residential Area — narrow winding streets with parked cars. Low visibility around corners demands cautious but quick driving.

Using the Mini-Map

Tracking the Suspect

A red marker on the mini-map shows the suspect vehicle's position relative to your cruiser. When the suspect goes behind buildings or around corners, the mini-map is your only way to track them. Check it frequently — losing visual contact is the fastest way to lose a pursuit.

Shortcut Identification

The mini-map reveals alleyways and side streets not visible from the driver's perspective. Learning these shortcuts allows you to cut across blocks and intercept suspects who think they have escaped.

Pursuit Tactics by the Book

Maintaining Safe Distance

Do not tailgate the suspect. Maintain a gap of two to three car lengths. This gives you room to react to sudden stops or turns and reduces the risk of a collision that takes your cruiser out of the chase.

Anticipating Escape Routes

Suspects tend to turn at intersections — they rarely go straight for long. Watch for likely escape routes: open highway on-ramps, wide boulevards, and areas with light traffic. Position yourself to cut off these routes.

Managing Damage

Your cruiser can only sustain so many impacts before it becomes undrivable. Avoid colliding with civilian vehicles and barriers. Each collision reduces your cruiser's health. A destroyed cruiser means a failed pursuit.

Scoring and Progression

Performance Ratings

Each pursuit is graded on a scale from D to S based on several factors: time to apprehend the suspect, damage to your vehicle, damage to civilian property, and whether you used advanced maneuvers like the PIT. S-rank ratings require fast, clean, technically proficient driving.

Unlocking Vehicles

Higher ratings unlock new police vehicles with improved speed, handling, and durability. Starting with a standard patrol sedan, you can work your way up to interceptors, SUVs, and specialty pursuit vehicles.

Controls Quick Reference

Input Action
W / Up Arrow Accelerate
S / Down Arrow Brake / Reverse
A-D / Left-Right Arrows Steer
Spacebar Toggle siren
Shift Handbrake (for tight turns)
E Attempt PIT maneuver

Important Notes

  • Civilian traffic is always present. Hitting civilian vehicles damages your cruiser and lowers your rating.
  • Some suspects fight back — be prepared for sudden brake-checks and swerves designed to make you crash.
  • The siren does not automatically clear traffic, but it makes civilian vehicles gradually move aside.
  • Each district has unique ambient traffic patterns. Learning these patterns helps you predict civilian vehicle positions during a chase.
